The key to using the pen is to take care to notice how long to press the button for.  Either to hold it for a moment – or to press and release immediately – this quick start guide should get you going.

1. Turning the Spy Pen on.

To switch on the spy pen – press and hold the top button for 1 to 2 seconds and release.  Wait for around 10 seconds and the fixed blue light will come on.  The pen is now in Photo mode and waiting for you to take a picture.

2.  To take a picture.

Having performed step 1 – with the fixed blue light on, press and immediately release the top button.  The spy pen will take a picture.  Repeat this step with a fixed blue light in order to take another picture.

3.  To record a video.

3a) Having performed step 1 – with the fixed blue light on, press and hold the top button for 1 to 2 seconds.  Release the button and the light will turn from fixed blue to fixed red.  The pen is now waiting for you to tell it to start video recording.

3b) To start recording – now press and immediately release the top button – the fixed red light will now start flashing slowly – when it is flashing – the pen is recording.

3c) To stop the pen recording – press and immediately release the top button – the flashing red light will stop flashing and become fixed red.  To start recording again – from this point – go to step 3b.

4.  To switch off the pen

Press and hold the top button until the light goes out completely – then release the button.

5.  Connecting / Charging the spy pen.

The pen should ALWAYS be connected to a PC using the supplied cable.  To access movies and photos created with the pen, please use Windows Explorer once the pen is connected and you will be able to navigate to the device under the section "My Computer".

The pens batteries charge whilst connected – once the light stops flashing the pen is fully charged.  Initially (5 times) – drain the pen then charge leaving the pen connected for an additional 30 minutes to attain full battery potential.

To play movies – please transfer them to your hard drive first – for best performance.
